Straight

LOL I have straight hair. It won't last but I got it all cut off and now it's straight. It's so weird.

I HATE A-Fraud. I don't care if he had 3 home runs last night including a grand slam last night and a solo shot tonight. I do not like him. He is not a Yankee to me. Sorry, Rob, but it's true.

I can't believe tomorrow is Thursday. This school year is flying by. I will be sad to see it end. I am enjoying the people I work with.

I started at SPAC this month. Pre-season isn't half as interesting as the regular season.

I hate Lauren. She will be @ Saturday's Yankees game sitting behind their dugout. She doesn't even like baseball.

I am going to Sunday's game. I will probably be sitting out in left field. I hate sitting out there.

I love Steve Finley. He's hot. He hit a homerun tonight. He looked better in Dodger blue.

Time for Alias.

Blurred Line

Okay... there's a thin line between brave and stupid. I think I am straddling it right now. I heard back from said boy. A generally positive reply to my email. Now while a mutual friend told me to remain cool and aloof, I am not good at that. I end up feeling fearful, and monitor my every move which makes life nerve-wracking.

So, I decided to "grab the bull by the horns" as my Friendster horoscope directed and replied to his email. I was forthright and expressed a desire to see him. Will I be crushed if he doesn't go for it? Probably not. As our relationship stands, I am good either way. Do I think this can ever go anywhere? Rationally, no. But that doesn't mean that I can't see what happens, right?

Anyway... vacation is over.

I have a new favorite author: Eugenie Seifer Olson. She writes really cool chick lit. her first book was Babe in Toyland and her recent release is The Pajama Game. I highly recommend both. There's even a reference to Troy, NY in this one. Whoohoo!! A tribute to Michael and Kevin obviously. Who knew Troy was so exciting? Although it did turn out at least three pretty cool guys, although they have all seemed to have relocated to Boston.

What else have I read lately? I began Love in the Time of Cholera but put it down in favor of Eugenie's book.

The Yankees won! LOL They are in the cellar of the divison with the Devil Rays. I know I shouldn't find it funny but I do. I am happy that Tino is back. And I LOVE Moose, Bernie and Jorge but it's amusing to see them buy A-Fraud and The Big Prick and still be losing.

However, I desperately miss Lowe on the Sox. Even Pedro a little.

I am enjoying my new toys, my iPod and my new car. They work well together. I tortured my mother on the drive to and from Niagara Falls with tunes I got from my cousin. Things like Frank Zappa, The Shins, The Zutons, Sleater-Kinney, Dropkick Murphy's. Fun!

Okay, past my bedtime now. Wish me luck!

Idiot

Grrr..... I am an idiot. Or at least I think I made an idiot out of myself. See there's this guy... Read post "ode to a boy"

Yeah.. well... there's this guy. And well... while totally sober and coherient, I let him know how I feel. Ack... I blame my former neighbor. He told me not to have regrets. Apparently he has a few. Wonder if I am one of them.

On another note, I got hit on by the cute bellman @ our hotel in Niagara Falls. LOL Adam. He liked my Mikey Mouse shirt. I had a good vacation overall. My car saw every bit of I-9o from Boston to Buffalo. Next weekend I head south to see the Yankees play Toronto.

Alas, my break is over and I return to the real world tomorrow. Yuck! Only 10 weeks left. I can make it. Right???

Happy Birthday to me! Posted by Hello

Fantasy vs. Reality

I have a new favorite word. Assholery. Great word. I plan to use it often.

Anyway... I was @ Charlie's Kitchen in Harvard Square on Friday and witnessed a debate over Reality vs. Fantasy. Risk Taking vs. Playing it Safe. Days later, I am still pondering it.

Which is better? To forgo turning a fantasy into a reality out of fear of being disappointed? To jump right in, everything be damned? To have the reality of your fantasy be so good you're left wanting more?

Why is it so hard to let people know how we feel? Why does what they think matter more?

Is it better to start a fresh relationship with a someone practically unknown to you? Or to find one in someone know wants you 'as is'? Which is better to have someone discover all your faults and quirks and hope they can see past them? Or have someone who knows what they getting into already and wants you because of those faults and quirks?

Maybe the whole turning 30 has affected me more than I thought it would. I didn't feel any different or wiser on April 3rd than I did on April 1st. I felt the same me I have felt the past 15 years. But suddenly, I have developed an air of confidence that hadn't been there before. True it's still in its infant stages but so far it has had positive reactions.

It's kinda weird. You know that check list we all have. The list of things we want to do before dying if the opportunities ever arise... I can cross two off... Maybe I need to move to Boston. It seems to be the only place were I actually end up doing some living.

Happy Tuesday.

Craziness

All right... so I turned 30 on the 2nd. All of my my over-30 friends have been telling me how great the 30's are. You just have more fun and stop caring about what other's think of you. Apparently that is true because I didn't behave like myself these past few weeks. And yet, I have had more fun than I have in a long while.

More on that later...

F@#! Sheffield

I do not like Gary Sheffield. Never have. I am so sick of everyone on the YES Network celebrating the fact that he didn't hit someone and assuming that the fan was trying to hit him.

From my perspective, the Boston fan was no different than anyone else sitting along the fence with a half-hearted attempt to get the ball. His eyes weren't even on Shef. Give me a break. Gary's first reaqction was to shove the guy with his glove. How is that goodsportsmanship?????

I HATE Shef.

At least Michael Kay had an objective opinion. He didn't think the fan was going after Sheffield either. I am beginning to think this whole rivalry thing is media hype.

Grrr.....

It was so weird to see Neil Allen as a coach though. I remember him with the Mets when I was a kid. I had his baseball card.

Doug Flutie in the stands making a great catch. I still have nightmares of the Flutie/Johnson issue when I lived in Buffalo.

Who would have thought the Jays and Orioles would be ahead of NY and Boston. But it's only the second week of the season.

I am off tomorrow to Boston. Saturday I'll be at Fenway freezing my ass off watching the Sox play the Devil Rays. *sigh* My first game of the season. I head to the Stadium on May 1st.

My bed is calling me....
